Ruth 17th April 2021

I remember the first time I saw Lizzie, with Mary sat on her lap in Mrs May's classroom, we were 5 & all I remember thinking was "That little girl looks like her Mummy!" Lizzie always spoke about Mary & I being called The terrible twins because if either of us went to school & the other was off sick, we'd fake a tummy ache so we didn't have to be at school without the other. I have so many wonderful memories of being at the Lavender house for tea or a sleepover, Lizzie always made me laugh & I can still remember the smell of stale smoke in her red Nova where she'd been out for a sneaky ciggie! I remember giggling as she bickered with Neil about what radio station to put on our journey to Clacton for a holiday and playing cards in the caravan in the rain. The one thing I'll never forget is Lizzie calling me little Ruth Harris (despite being Ruth Hollingsworth for 21 years!) & she always referred to Mum as Mary Harris in her wonderful unmistakable voice! I will always treasure the memories I have of time spent with Lizzie, chatting & reminiscing, she was such a kind, warm & hilariously funny lady with a huge voice & and even bigger heart ♥
